Quote Of The Day

14-December-2014 by crucifyd

From the book "None Dare Call It Conspiracy" by Gary Allen, 1972 (highlight added by crucifyd):

Our problem is that most of us believe socialism is what the socialists want us to believe it is-a share-the wealth program. That is the theory. But is that how it works? Let us examine the only Socialist countries according to the Socialist definition of the word extant in the world today. These are the Communist countries. The Communists themselves refer to these as Socialist countries, as in the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. Here in the reality of socialism you have a tiny oligarchial clique at the top, usually numbering no more than three percent of the total population, controlling the total wealth, total production and the very lives of the other ninety-seven percent. Certainly even the most naive observe that Mr. Brezhnev doesn't live like one of the poor peasants out on the great Russian steppes. But, according to socialist theory, he is supposed to do just that!

If one understands that socialism is not a share-the Wealth program, but is in reality a method to consolidate and control the wealth, then the seeming paradox of super-rich men promoting socialism becomes no paradox at all. Instead it becomes the logical, even the perfect tool of power-seeking megalomaniacs. Communism, or more accurately, socialism, is not a movement of the downtrodden masses, but of the economic elite. The plan of the conspirator Insiders then is to socialize the United States, not to Communize it.

- Gary Allen -

In the case of the United States, "super-rich men" = politicians...

A high school student was given an assignment requiring her to "list the benefits of Islam"...her father, who was banned from her school, speaking to a school official about said assignment:

You [can] take that Muslim-loving piece of paper and shove it up your white ass.

Insane

27-August-2014 by crucifyd

This article speeks of another article full of insanity published on www.gawker.com

The thinly-veiled totalitarian bent of the unhinged left has reared its ugly head once again with a demented rant by Gawker’s Adam Weinstein which calls for thought criminals who question man-made global warming to be arrested and thrown in prison.

“We have laws on the books to punish anyone whose lies contribute to people’s deaths. It’s time to punish the climate-change liars,” blathers Weinstein, before claiming that man-made climate change kills 150,000 people a year.

Weinstein cites the example of six Italian seismologists who were convicted of manslaughter in 2009 after they failed to connect a series of tremors the week before to a subsequent earthquake that killed 309 people, arguing that public figures who openly express the thought crime of questioning the scientific establishment should face similar punishment.

“Those denialists should face jail. They should face fines. They should face lawsuits from the classes of people whose lives and livelihoods are most threatened by denialist tactics,” barks Weinstein.

Demanding that, “malcontents must be punished and stopped,” Weinstein asserts that disagreeing with the content of scientific journals which promote man-made climate change is not covered by the First Amendment, arguing that skeptics be “punished for your self-serving malice”.

What’s next? Perhaps opponents of Obamacare are the cause of illness and death for uninsured poor people. Maybe they too should be thrown in a thought crime gulag for questioning Dear Leader?

Weinstein’s screed emerged just days before a major United Nations report released today which warns of doomsday-level consequences if humanity doesn’t immediately relinquish the bounty of freedom, happiness and prosperity which has been associated with CO2 emissions for some 250 years. The fact that climate scientists have been caught time and time again spectacularly overexaggerating previous dire proclamations hasn’t discouraged them from doubling down on their insanity.

I liked the comment made by Rick Moran regarding the insane rant...

PJ Media’s Rick Moran labeled Weinstein an “authoritarian douchebag” and a “sneering elitist,” noting, “People with ideas like Weinstein’s are the reason other people are buying guns. This should not be seen in any way as a direct personal threat against Weinstein. But he has to understand that when liberals talk like this, they are the ones threatening others. They are the ones who would take away what the Constitution guarantees. They are the ones that many people think they need protecting from.”

While control freaks like Weinstein will continue to spew doomsday rhetoric about man-made activity killing the planet, the only real relationship between earth’s temperature and human behavior is the fact that the longer it remains stoically flat – with no actual global warming for over 17 years – the more desperate global warming alarmists become in attempting to silence critics of their religion.

Creepy

22-August-2014 by crucifyd

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is soliciting companies to provide new technology that would allow the U.S. Department of Defense to predict future “societal unrest” by keeping track of “all human activities that can be measured.”

A solicitation posted on FedBizOpps outlines DARPA’s intent to fund research and development of “game-changing technologies” that will “provide a decisive information advantage for the U.S. and its allies,” opening the door to “powerful ways to gain insight into the world.”

“Essentially all human activities that can be measured, from mercantile to military, are being quantitatively re-examined in the context of this new, “big data”, capability. Early demonstrations have produced remarkable insights into human activities and enabled quantitative decision making,” states the solicitation, adding that the agency is looking to develop new algorithms which can forecast “online correlation for societal unrest.”

Sowell

15-August-2014 by crucifyd

The Middle East must lead the world in cease-fires. If cease-fires were the road to peace, the Middle East would easily be the most peaceful place on the planet.

"Cease-fire" and "negotiations" are magic words to "the international community." But just what do cease-fires actually accomplish?

In the short run, they save some lives. But in the long run they cost far more lives, by lowering the cost of aggression.

At one time, launching a military attack on another nation risked not only retaliation but annihilation. When Carthage attacked Rome, that was the end of Carthage.

But when Hamas or some other terrorist group launches an attack on Israel, they know in advance that whatever Israel does in response will be limited by calls for a cease-fire, backed by political and economic pressures from the United States.

It is not at all clear what Israel's critics can rationally expect the Israelis to do when they are attacked. Suffer in silence? Surrender? Flee the Middle East?

Or -- most unrealistic of al -- fight a "nice" war, with no civilian casualties? General William T. Sherman said it all, 150 years ago: "War is hell."

If you want to minimize civilian casualties, then minimize the dangers of war, by no longer coming to the rescue of those who start wars.

- Thomas Sowell -

In an age when scientists are creating artificial intelligence, too many of our educational institutions seem to be creating artificial stupidity.

It is much the same story in our domestic controversies. We have gotten so intimidated by political correctness that our major media outlets dare not call people who immigrate to this country illegally "illegal immigrants."

Not A Church Is At It Again

22-July-2014 by crucifyd

As I inferred in May of 2012 by quoting the reader board of the Marysville Evergreen Unitarian Universalist Fellowship "church", this is not a church...

Here is one side of the reader board for about the last 3 or 4 weeks:

To quote the "Who We Are" page:

The Unitarian Universalist, UU, faith tradition has thrived for hundreds of years. Arising from a Judeo-Christian base, we are committed to living our values more in deeds than in creeds, grounding our lives on seven guiding principles for ethical action.

We welcome the various religious and philosophical views of our members and invite persons with diverse life experiences and cultural backgrounds to join our community.

Just this part of the statement has so many problems, here are three:

1. "Living our values more in deeds than in creeds"
That's like saying you can work on a car without first having knowledge about cars and the manufacturers design. God gives us his word (creed) so we know how he would have us to live (deed). Biblically speaking, God calls us to deeds AND creeds.

2. "Grounding our lives on seven guiding principles"
Uh, guiding principles from where? A scripture refence please.

3. "We welcome the various religious and philosophical views of our members and invite persons with diverse life experiences and cultural backgrounds to join our community."
Commentary follwing the bibilcal text.

Beloved, although I was very eager to write to you about our common salvation, I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints.

- Jude 1:3 ESV

Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? What accord has Christ with Belial? Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever? What agreement has the temple of God with idols?

- 2 Corinthians 6:14-16a ESV

Sorry, but God said there is only one true faith and that is the one he delivered to us via the teaching of the apostles and the written text in the Bible. Those who believe in Allah, Buddha, the god of Mormonism (NOT the God of the Bible) etc, or those who say they believe in the God of the Bible, but in fact he is really a god of thier own making (for example "my god is not a judging god"), do not believe in the One True God and therefore are not a part of the Body of Christ.

But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people. For among them are those who creep into households and capture weak women, burdened with sins and led astray by various passions, always learning and never able to arrive at a knowledge of the truth. Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these men also oppose the truth, men corrupted in mind and disqualified regarding the faith. But they will not get very far, for their folly will be plain to all, as was that of those two men.

- 2 Timothy 3:1-9 ESV

Note the context here is WITHIN the church. Interesting how paul says to AVOID people who have a form of godliness, not inivte them into our church.

The World History Of Gun Control

11-February-2014 by crucifyd

Here are just a few examples of the results of "gun control" (ultimately...confiscation):

The World History Of Gun Control

1929 -- The Soviet Union establishes gun control. From 1929 to 1953, approximately 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

1935 -- China establishes gun control. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

1938 -- Germany establishes gun control. From 1939 to 1945, 13 million Jews, gypsies, and other arbitrary categories of people unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

1964 -- Guatemala establishes gun control. From 1964 to 1981 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

1966 -- Cambodia establishes gun control. From 1975 to 1977, one million "educated" people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

1970 -- Uganda establishes gun control. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

1999 -- Australia establishes gun control. Law-abiding citizens were forced to surrender 640,381 personal firearms for destruction, a program costing the government more than $500 million. The results Australia-wide:homicides are up 3.2%, assaults are up 8%, and armed robberies are up 44%. In the state of Victoria, homicides with firearms are up 300%. Over the previous 25 years, figures show a steady decrease in armed robberies and Australian politicians are on the spot and at a loss to explain how no improvement in "safety" has been observed after such a monumental effort was expended in "ridding society of guns."

In a mere 100 years, more than 56 million people, unable to defend themselves because of gun control, have lost their lives and property. Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property. Gun control only affects law-abiding citizens as criminals will always find a way to obtain weapons. The next time someone suggests how much safer the world might be with gun control, ask them which group of citizens they would like to exterminate.

Acting The Part

18-January-2014 by crucifyd

Posted by Silverhawk5 on www.seahawks.net:

Die hard hawk fan for 30 years (I'm 35). I rarely if ever miss games. I had my hand forced into attending a season opener Chargers game with a bunch of guys who are big bears fans. 1pm game, same as the Hawks. Chargers vs Bears, Hawks were in Tampa. I nervously sat through the first quarter watching the scoreboard for updates. Chargers faithful start in on the guys I'm with, talking smack. At this point I'm irritated that I'm in a second rate stadium, watching a second rate team, listening to second rate fans talk second rate smack but mostly I was pissed that I was missing the Seahawks game.

2nd quarter rolls around, we've got a couple of real pieces of work around us that seem to be having more fun antagonizing bears fans than watching the game. Then it dawns on me, if I get these guys backs, I might get a ticket out of here and can be bellied up to the bar watching the seahawks by halftime. Soooo, I start firing back on these guys as if I give a donkeys ass about the Bears. The guy in the row in front of me stands up and starts getting really animated. I calmly lift my beer and pour it on his head. This leads to pandamonium! Tempers flair. I've got a pack of wild eyed Chargers fans ready to kill a guy they assume is a Bears fan. I'm promptly surrounded by security and asked to leave the game. Bingo!

I jump in a cab for the nearest sports bar and watch our beloved Hawks roll to their first win of many. Best part is, I'm a hero with the Chicago guys who pick me up after the game. I'm not proud of what I've done or the man I've become but a guys gotta do what s guys gotta do. That. and i love when a good plan comes together.
